Back to the office!

Like most offices in California and elsewhere, our main facility in Mountain View has been empty since early March 2020. We worked from home for more than a year.

Our office just after we moved in (2014).

Our office just after we moved in (2014).

Things started to turn around in March 2021, when Santa Clara County was downgraded to the “orange” tier of the California COVID-19 risk system, which allowed in-person nonessential office work with modifications. We did a limited reopening of the office in early April requiredwith capacity limits, masks, and distancing.

Then in mid-June, California removed nearly all of the pandemic-related restrictions. So, as of June 21st, we have fully reopened our Mountain View office! We’re looking forward to seeing each other in person again, and in many cases meeting newer colleagues for the first time. And we’re eager to resume our office traditions of jigsaw puzzles, game nights, and band practice.

This is a good week for us, and it’s only possible because of the success of the vaccination campaign here in California. We recognize that we are extremely fortunate to have an opportunity that is not yet afforded to the vast majority of the world. We’ll make the most of it, and we hope that everyone else can follow suit soon.
